Overview

The Virtual Fretboard is an extensible tool that lets you explore the fretboard in a variety of ways. The Virtual Fretboard is in our opinion the only chord and scale generator you will ever need because it can be extended by adding new instruments, tunings, chords and scales. This can be done using the unique configuration system built into the software.

How it works

The system can define any instrument from 3 to 12 strings, each instrument can have any number of tunings based on the western system of music. For each of the defined tunings a fretboard diagram for all of the defined scales and chords can be displayed for all keys. Many instances of the software can be used simultaneously, allowing the same scale or chord for different instruments to be displayed. If you have a PC with more than one monitor you can display the software as many times as you like on each display.
